About the role

The Director of School Support and Student Services plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support services to students and staff within the Diocese of Allentown. This position oversees various programs designed to enhance educational outcomes and ensure the well-being of all students.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and evaluation of student support programs including counseling, academic intervention, and social-emotional learning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and community partners to develop and implement strategies that improve student success rates.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and families through individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organizations to secure additional resources and support for students.
  • Conduct regular assessments and provide data-driven recommendations to improve student performance and school climate.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in education or related field, with a focus on student support and development.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams, including supervising counselors and other support staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of best practices in student support and intervention strategies.

Qualifications

  • Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of federal and state education laws and regulations.

Pay
