About the role
Responsible for the process to achieve sales goals and marketing objectives for all assigned products, while operating within policies/procedures and assigned expense budgets. Develops and directs business plans which are consistent with the division’s annual goals and strategies; accountable for the assigned regional sales financial goals; develops market share potential and competitive advantage. Coordinates the efforts of the direct sales force and field clinical managers; facilitates good communication between these groups, Bioventus, and key customer contacts.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a team to achieve and deliver revenue goals for each product category on a quarterly and annual basis in the defined geography.
- Develop the business plan for the assigned products to meet or exceed area financial sales and marketing objectives.
- Create and manage intelligence gathering capability for the area marketplace to ensure that objectives are met.
- Direct tactical implementation of business plan to meet objectives.
- Participate in strategic planning and sales forecasting. Provide market insights, trends, competitive activity and conditions. Recommend changes to strategic and tactical sales plans.
- Analyze and report changing needs within the sales organization for training, sales programs and field assets.
- Prepare sales forecasts by trauma product line, quotes and recommend pricing strategies.
- Build professional and technical knowledge by engaging with customers, attending scientific conferences, educational workshops, delivering presentations, training field personnel, and reviewing professional publications.
- Prepare, administer and control expense budgets as part of overall profits.
- Hold oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus’ Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.
- Attract, develop and retain talent. Ensure focus and alignment with functional and company goals. Provide employees with continuous feedback and coaching using talent-and-performance management tools.
- Collaborate with Audit & Risk Management function to identify business risks and develop and implement preventive strategies for functional area.
Requirements
- BA or BS in Business, Marketing, Biomedical Sciences, or related field. MBA or advanced studies preferred.
- Five (5) to eight (8) years or more of demonstrated high achievement in Sales / General Management in the medical device industry.
- Conceptual, strategic planning skills with demonstrated product line success and growth.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to lead in a motivating style.
- Multi-unit / cross product line management experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
