About the role
The Director of Sales and Marketing at Omni Tucson National Resort & Spa will develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans to generate and optimize overall revenues through marketing, sales, promotion, advertising, and public relations. This role leads a team in group sales, catering, convention services, marketing, and revenue management, contributing to the resort's overall direction while managing expenses and exceeding budgeted revenues and RevPAR goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage an experienced and successful sales team while implementing and maintaining Omni brand standards.
- Develop, maintain, and implement strategies and action plans to generate revenues for the hotel, with an emphasis on exceeding established group rate guidelines.
- Motivate productivity of all sales staff through leadership, development, and support.
- Create and implement creative and successful packages to fill identified need periods across all segments.
- Actively solicit key accounts to generate direct sales and maintain a proactive solicitation environment.
- Assist in achieving overall Food and Beverage revenue goals.
- Design and leverage advertising and public relations opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and implement the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring effective control of all sales and marketing expenses.
- Ensure all administrative procedures are in place and functioning effectively, including timely completion of required reports.
- Promote high visibility of the hotel through active involvement in city activities, industry associations, and trade shows.
- Provide proper collateral and information vehicles to keep customers informed and updated on the resort.
- Foster a challenging and exciting work environment to encourage career development and personal growth.
- Support and promote all corporate programs to increase customer awareness of Omni Hotels & Resorts.
- Maintain product quality and ensure the protection and cleanliness of the owner’s physical assets through the Convention Services Department.
- Understand and contribute to overall revenue management initiatives and strategies to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Use resources and data to develop strategic plans for selling segments, aligning customer expectations with company revenue goals.
- Organize activities and resources to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Focus on personal sales efforts to achieve maximum revenue return from key accounts.
- Monitor achievement objectives and goals, taking corrective action for shortfalls versus the strategic plan.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets for travel and other business expenses.
- Grow relationships internally and externally to advance sales initiatives.
- Lead sales and marketing efforts to increase overall revenue, seeking input from relevant parties before making decisions.
- Develop effective presentations (oral and written) to clearly communicate ideas, opinions, and recommendations.
- Maintain communication with key accounts and understand hotel performance, customer issues, and trends.
- Articulate vision, goals, initiatives, and expectations for the hotel clearly.
- Promote and provide leadership in fostering property sales and national sales synergies.
Requirements
- Director of Sales & Marketing experience in a luxury hotel or resort.
- Minimum of 5 years of senior sales and/or marketing leadership experience managing at least 6 employees.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Access database tools.
