About Flexport

We believe global trade can move the human race forward. Shaping the future of a $10T industry with innovative technology and exceptional people, we help companies move more than $19B of merchandise across 112 countries annually. During the recent global supply chain crisis, Flexport has been at the forefront, playing a crucial role in global commerce. Supported by top investors, we are committed to making global trade easier and more accessible.

The Opportunity

We are expanding our dedicated Automotive practice and need a leader to shape and grow it. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a high-performing sales team and establish Flexport as a leading provider of logistics solutions for the automotive industry. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will operate with significant autonomy and have access to executive leadership.

Why This Role Is Different

The automotive logistics market presents unique challenges. A production line stoppage can cost OEMs up to $100,000 per minute in lost output, making even small disruptions critical. The industry faces complex tariff environments, including USMCA rules of origin and Section 232 tariffs, requiring specialized expertise. Flexport has developed robust capabilities to address these complexities:

  • Customs expertise tailored for automotive complexity, ensuring error-free customs filings with a 0.2% error rate.

  • Real-time digital control tower with proactive exception management, providing visibility to prevent disruptions.

  • Mexico cross-border expertise, supporting nearshoring initiatives and supply chain reconfiguration.

What You Will Own

You will be responsible for the entire commercial motion for Flexport's Automotive practice, from pipeline generation to close and beyond. You will build and lead a high-performing sales team, establish and drive revenue goals, and represent Flexport externally as a subject-matter expert.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of overall professional experience, including direct experience selling complex, high-value logistics or supply chain solutions to Fortune 500 customers.

  • Deep familiarity with the automotive ecosystem, either through direct sales, account management, or operational roles.

  • Demonstrated track record as a top-performing individual contributor and early-stage team builder.

  • Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder deals involving procurement, supply chain, logistics, and executive leadership.

  • Excellent analytical and commercial judgment, with the ability to build and manage a pipeline, forecast accurately, and make strategic tradeoffs.

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to earn trust at every level, from Account Executives to C-suite executives.
