Director of Revenue

We are looking for an experienced Director of Revenue to lead revenue accounting operations for a fast-growing organization in San Francisco, California. This role is responsible for guiding revenue recognition strategy, overseeing the full order-to-cash process, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in a complex, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, a hands-on approach to building scalable processes, and the ability to work closely with data and engineering teams to support reliable revenue outcomes. Responsibilities: • Lead the company’s revenue accounting function, with accountability for accurate recognition practices and oversight of the complete order-to-cash cycle. • Direct revenue operations for a high-volume, consumption-based business model, ensuring financial results align with contractual terms and credit usage activity. • Develop and strengthen scalable revenue processes, controls, and supporting documentation to enable growth in a startup or rapidly expanding environment. • Partner closely with engineering and data teams to validate the completeness, integrity, and usability of credit-consumption information used in revenue reporting. • Manage the accounting treatment for complex transactions across multiple entities, currencies, and intercompany arrangements. • Oversee audit support activities by maintaining clear audit trails, preparing schedules, and improving readiness for external review. • Utilize systems such as NetSuite and related revenue management tools to improve accuracy, automation, and operational efficiency. • Provide leadership on technical accounting matters related to ASC 606 and ensure revenue policies remain compliant and consistently applied. • 5+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, including leadership-level responsibility for revenue recognition. • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and core revenue accounting principles within complex commercial environments. • Experience managing end-to-end order-to-cash activities and supporting accounts receivable processes. • Hands-on expertise with NetSuite, including revenue-related functionality; experience with Advanced Revenue Management is preferred. • Background working with multi-entity, multi-currency, or intercompany revenue structures. • Ability to build and refine accounting processes in a high-growth or startup setting. • Experience supporting audits, establishing audit trails, and preparing organizations for audit readiness. • Prior experience in a Big 4 or national accounting firm environment is a plus, and familiarity with HubiFi is highly desirable.
