Salary Range
Salary range for this position is $45-50k annually plus lesson commissions.
About the Role
Directs and administers programs to maximize revenue/yield management with a strong emphasis on racquet program development, membership sales, and external partner development.
Responsibilities
- Supervises all instruction activity including the coordination and recruitment of instructors.
- Executes planning, sales and marketing for Annual Sports Club Memberships and other property initiatives, such as in house hotel initiatives with racquet programming.
- Assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring annual budget, revenue goals, and expenses.
- Develops, maintains, and administers sound organizational plans and initiates improvements as necessary.
- Maintains an active on-court teaching schedule of approximately 12–15 hours per week. Teaching hours may vary based on seasonal demand, staffing levels, special events, tournaments, camps and business needs.
- Ensures the safety of members, guests and employees by following safety guidelines.
- Works closely with all of the hotel departments to maximize total property revenue.
- Creates a service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and exceeds the expectations of guests.
- Ensures the highest standards are maintained through all aspects of the sports club facility.
- Implements policies and procedures for the Sports Club Department, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services.
- Interviews, hires, trains, plans, assigns, directs work, evaluates performance, rewards, and disciplines associates; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Builds people and prepares them for career advancement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BA); or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Member in good standing of the PGA of America or LPGA of America.
- Experience as a Director of Golf in a Four or Five Star / Diamond Resort is preferred.
- Experience with a diversity of golf course operations such as resort, private and/or semi-private.
- Thorough understanding of the Golf Retail industry.
- Must be driven, professional, and have excellent communication skills.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated skills.
- Demonstrated passion for high levels of guest services, and exceeding expectations.
- Great computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office, tee time reservations, POS, retail inventory, and familiarity with Web based golf partners.
Qualifications
