Director of Racquets

About the role

The Director of Racquets oversees all racquet-sport programming, staffing, and facility operations at Grand Harbor. This leadership position is responsible for growing participation, ensuring high-quality instruction, and maintaining a welcoming environment for members and guests.

Responsibilities

• Develop, schedule, and promote tennis, pickleball, and platform tennis programs for all ages and skill levels.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a team of racquet-sport professionals and support staff.
• Manage court reservations, maintenance, and equipment inventory.
• Create and administer annual budgets, membership drives, and revenue-generating events.
• Collaborate with the Board of Directors and club committees on long-term strategic planning.
• Ensure compliance with all PTR and USTA standards and safety protocols.
• Foster a culture of inclusion, sportsmanship, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in racquet-sport management, preferably at a private club or resort.
• Current PTR or USPTA certification (or equivalent) at the Professional level.
• Demonstrated success in program growth, staff development, and financial oversight.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with court-reservation software and Microsoft Office suite.
