About the role

This position oversees the quality, risk, and patient satisfaction functions at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. Responsibilities include directing performance improvement activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinating accreditation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Directs performance improvement activities and ensures the facility is ready for Joint Commission, CDPH, and other regulatory visits.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates services and operations for the department, including setting short and long-term goals and budgets.
• Supervises and coordinates the work of staff, managing operational and staffing matters, and implementing performance management strategies.
• Advises the CNO on quality, risk, patient satisfaction, and performance improvement issues, and advises the CEO on risk management.
• Manages expenses through efficient managerial skills and critical thinking, and ensures development of subordinates and succession planning.
• Prioritizes projects, manages time effectively, and ensures targeted outcomes are achieved through clear communication and adherence to standards.
• Ensures customer service and patient experience initiatives are in place to meet targeted outcomes.
• Develops and maintains spreadsheets, reports, and budgets, and demonstrates good project management skills.
• Ensures compliance with wage and hour regulations, OSHA, workers' compensation, and other relevant laws.
• Works collaboratively with Human Resources to handle administrative proceedings and engages in self-improvement activities.

Requirements

Minimum three years progressive supervisor experience in quality improvement and risk management, with a minimum of a Master's degree in healthcare related field preferred. Extensive knowledge of Joint Commission, state, and federal regulatory requirements, and demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Ability to develop spreadsheets, reports, and budgets, and manage project timelines.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
