Director of Project Management

About the role

The Director of Project Management & Strategic Initiatives will lead the Project Management Office (PMO) within EWS Operations. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing a high-impact portfolio of organizational projects, ensuring operational excellence, and translating strategic vision into actionable execution plans. This role requires being in the office 3 days/week on Tues - Thurs.

Responsibilities

• Build and instill project / program rigor for the team including a standardized intake and prioritization model, presentation templates, reporting and PM tools.
• People Leadership: Manage, coach, and develop a team of PM leaders (Managers/Senior PMs); drive workload distribution based on team capacity and business prioritization.
• Plan and manage projects, including defining scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Distribute workload based on employee bandwidth, capability, and business prioritization
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
• Collaborate with various teams to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and create implementation plans to increase efficiency and guarantee quality delivery.
• Prepare detailed executive reports on project status, performance, and key metrics.
• Analyze data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field; MBA or Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years of project management experience, with several years in a leadership role (e.g., Director or Senior PMO role).
• Experience creating and managing detailed project plans.
• Experience in developing and presenting reports to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) is strongly preferred; PgMP or PfMP is a plus.
• Skills: Strong strategic thinking, leadership, risk management, and communication skills.
• Technology: Proficient in project management software (e.g Jira, ServiceNow).
