DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT - SaaS, Fintech, Credit Fraud, Risk
Career Staffing Talent (CST) has partnered with a product-first, PE-backed enterprise SaaS company building mission-critical risk data solutions used by financial services in North America. This is a rare "founder-in-residence" product seat where you'll own a full suite of distinct products and lead its transformation from a reactive monitoring tool into a predictive, AI- and agentic-powered platform.
About the role
You'll be the sole product manager owning a full suite of products in the bankruptcy/credit-risk domain. This is a high-impact, revenue-driving Director-level individual contributor role for someone who thinks like a founder—strategic, several steps ahead, and capable of building vision rather than waiting for direction. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Sales, Client Success, and executive leadership, and engage directly with enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end strategy, roadmap, and long-term vision for a full suite of products in the bankruptcy/credit-risk domain
- Lead the shift from reactive monitoring to predictive, data-driven risk modeling—identifying where the opportunity is, not waiting to be told
- Explore agentic and AI-embedded workflows that automate downstream steps for customer-side analysts after a risk flag is raised
- Drive new data integrations with external vendors to deliver more value in a single, unified solution
- Run market, competitive, and customer discovery to define direction (e.g., keeping pace with faster-moving, legacy-free competitors)
- Apply AI-first ways of working across the full cycle—discovery docs → PRDs → user stories in Jira → aligned code generation—to multiply team velocity
- Define requirements, write user stories, and manage the backlog in Jira
- Partner with Sales, Client Success, and Marketing on go-to-market, pricing, packaging, and commercialization
- Own product KPIs, customer outcomes, and data-driven prioritization and experimentation
Requirements
- 10+ years of product management in B2B enterprise SaaS—building customer-facing products sold externally, not internal tools for captive audiences
- Core product ownership: directly responsible for market learning, discovery, and requirements that drive development—not a peripheral or supporting role
- Hands-on, current use of modern AI productivity tools in your day-to-day PM workflow (discovery → PRDs → Jira → AI-assisted delivery). This is a must, not a nice-to-have.
- Continuously active in the field—candidates out of the workforce for ~2 years are likely behind on the AI-transformed PM workflow this role demands
- Real data experience—working with data and building analytical and/or machine-learning models (this is a data product)
- Full-suite / full-domain ownership in your background—not a single feature
- Experience in a strong product organization with high PM rigor (tech-environment pedigree)
- A mix of startup (agile, nimble) and enterprise (structured, scaled) experience
- Founder mindset—strategic, vision-building, proactive about the product's future; the kind of PM who creates the next cycle of innovation even inside a corporate setting
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Bay Area–based with a hybrid schedule (~2 days/week on-site)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI agent / agentic platforms or AI-native products
- Experience with predictive modeling and ML-enabled risk signals
- Experience leading platform modernization and customer migration
- MBA from a top program (nice-to-have, not required)
Not the Right Fit If
- The $200K base salary isn't aligned with your expectations
- Your background is primarily internal tools, consumer, or non-SaaS B2B
- You've built only in-house products for internal teams (captive audience), not products sold to external enterprise customers
- You're a platform/infrastructure-only PM without customer-facing product ownership
- You've owned only a single feature rather than a full domain or suite
- You haven't used modern AI tools hands-on in your PM workflow (certifications alone don't count)
- You operate as a task-executing employee rather than a strategic, vision-building leader
- You can't commit to ~2 days/week on-site
Why This Role Stands Out
- Founder-style mandate—you define and drive the predictive, AI-native future of a market-leading risk product
- Real ownership and decision-making authority as a Director-level IC
- Direct exposure to top-tier enterprise customers and clear revenue impact
- Build with agentic AI and predictive data models on a mission-critical SaaS product
- Tight-knit team with engaged, product-led leadership
Pay
$200,000 base salary + bonus
Schedule
Full-time, hybrid (~2 days/week on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area)
