About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Director of Product Management to lead the Product Owner team supporting our Policy Administration platform. This is an execution-focused leadership role for someone with deep insurance systems expertise who enjoys driving delivery as much as defining strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Owners that are focused on Policy Administration and supporting shared services and QA initiatives
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Policy Administration initiatives, ensuring projects remain aligned, on schedule, and meet business objectives
  • Drive execution across multiple Agile teams operating in two-week sprint cycles
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, offshore resources, and third-party vendors to coordinate successful product delivery
  • Ensure product backlogs, priorities, and sprint objectives support strategic business goals while maintaining a strong focus on execution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business groups to translate operational needs into product enhancements and system capabilities
  • Support shared services functions, including coordination with QA and other centralized teams
  • Balance day-to-day delivery responsibilities with longer-term product strategy and planning

Time Allocation

  • 50% Execution & Policy Administration
    • Drive delivery of Policy Administration initiatives
    • Act as the product point of contact for active projects
    • Ensure priorities, timelines, and cross-functional teams remain aligned
  • 25% Product Strategy
    • Contribute to product vision, planning, prioritization, and roadmap development
  • 25% Shared Services Support
    • Partner with QA and shared service teams to improve delivery quality and operational effectiveness

Requirements

  • Significant experience in the insurance industry, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked directly with Policy Administration systems
  • Experience leading or managing Product Owners or Product Management teams
  • Strong background in Agile product delivery, including backlog management and sprint planning
  • Proven ability to execute complex initiatives—not solely roadmap or strategic planning experience
  • Experience collaborating with offshore development teams, technology partners, vendors, and cross-functional business stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of backend insurance systems and business processes
  • Strong foundation in Product Ownership best practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Policy Administration systems across Life & Annuity, Health, Property & Casualty, or other insurance lines
  • Experience with FAST Policy Administration is a strong plus
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and the Atlassian suite
  • Exposure to AI-enabled product capabilities or initiatives
