The Role At a Glance
The Director of Plant Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and safety of the facility's physical infrastructure and daily production activities.
Operational Management
- Oversees daily facility operations, including production schedules, workflow efficiency, and inventory management.
- Facility operations include processing, warehouse, maintenance and sanitation.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
- Directs preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure zero-loss operations.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensures the facility meets all federal, state, and local standards, specifically OSHA, NFPA, EPA, GMP, HACCP, USDA, etc.
Internal Compliance
- Ensure operations comply with all internal policies, procedures, and controls.
Safety Leadership
- Establish employee Health & Safety as a priority for all operations.
Financial Oversight
- Manages departmental budgets, analyzes P&L statements, and negotiates vendor contracts to maximize profitability and cost-efficiency.
Project Management
- Led capital improvement projects, including new construction, renovations, and equipment upgrades.
What You’ll Bring To The Flock
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 5+ years of progressive management experience in facilities, manufacturing, or plant operations, preferably in the egg industry.
- Superior leadership, technical proficiency in building systems, data analysis, and excellent communication skills.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus but not required
- Egg Processing a plus but not required
Work Schedule & Hours
- Day Shift - Flexible Schedule
- Work hours are primarily during the day, with flexibility in start and end times based on business needs.
- Shifts may extend up to 10–12 hours depending on project demands, deadlines, or organizational priorities.
- Daily schedules may vary due to meetings, process improvement initiatives, data analysis needs, or cross-functional collaboration.
- Flexibility is required to adjust working hours to support continuous improvement efforts and evolving business needs.
