Director of Pharmacy Partnerships

Alloy Health · United States · 1 mo ago

About the role

Alloy delivers medication to our members through a network of pharmacy partners. As we scale, that network needs to grow well beyond that: more capacity, broader geographic coverage, and stronger commercial terms, without giving up ground on the cost, quality, and compliance standards our members depend on. We're seeking a Director, Pharmacy Partnerships to own that network end to end — sourcing and onboarding new pharmacy partners, negotiating rates and terms, and holding every partner to clear cost, quality, compliance, and service-level goals. This is a goal-ownership role: you carry the numbers for your book of pharmacy partners, set the strategy for how the network operates, and drive outcomes with minimal day-to-day oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source & Grow the Pharmacy Network
    • Proactively identify, evaluate, and pursue new pharmacy partners that expand capacity, geographic coverage, formulary breadth, and fulfillment options — growing the network well beyond today's current partners
    • Own the full sourcing lifecycle from first contact through diligence, contracting, integration, and go-live, driving each opportunity start to finish
    • Build a pipeline of qualified partners ahead of need so the network scales ahead of demand, not in reaction to it
  • Negotiate & Manage Commercials
    • Negotiate rates, terms, and commercial agreements with pharmacy partners to hit cost targets, partnering with the VP of Operations on the highest-stakes deals
    • Own pharmacy spend and unit costs across the network, identifying and capturing savings and efficiency opportunities
    • Model the cost, service, quality, and capacity trade-offs when selecting partners or shifting volume between them
    • Run a monthly process to verify vendor costs and invoices against agreed rates
  • Own Performance to Goals
    • Set and manage partners to clear SLA and KPI targets — fill rate, turnaround time, order accuracy, and member impact — and continuously raise the bar on network performance
    • Hold pharmacy partners accountable for order fulfillment and shipping performance against agreed service levels
    • Own shipping and logistics across the network, managing partners to cost, SLA, and service-level targets and driving efficiency
    • Maintain oversight of Rx compliance across the network, keeping partners aligned to regulatory standards and escalating issues promptly
    • Build partner scorecards and run regular business reviews with each partner
    • Monitor and act on KPI data to assess network performance and surface opportunities to improve
  • Own the Pharmacy Operations Model
    • Own the operating model for the partner network — the policies, procedures, and workflows that govern how Alloy works with its pharmacy partners
    • Personally own day-to-day compliance monitoring, order issue resolution, and EMR-to-pharmacy workflow management. This role has no direct reports initially, so you'll be hands-on with execution, not delegating it
    • Build the operating rhythm including escalation paths, reporting cadence, process documentation, that keeps day-to-day execution tight while you focus on network strategy and growth; recommend when and how to add headcount as the network scales
  • Partner Cross-Functionally
    • Coordinate with IT and technical teams to integrate pharmacy partners with Alloy's platforms, ensuring seamless, reliable service delivery
    • Work with Customer Experience to protect and elevate the member experience across every partner in the network
    • Partner with Clinical and Legal/Compliance teams to keep the network aligned with regulatory requirements and Alloy's standard of care

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in vendor management, category management, procurement, or supplier management, with a track record of owning a book of vendors against cost and performance goals
  • Experience managing and developing others, with a demonstrated ability to build team structure and operating rhythm from the ground up
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable rates and terms
  • Experience sourcing and onboarding new vendors or partners from scratch
  • Comfort owning quantitative goals; demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive measurable improvement
  • Background in healthcare, pharmacy, telehealth, or a regulated fulfillment environment strongly preferred; familiarity with Rx compliance and pharmacy operations a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels
  • Proven ability to operate independently — owning goals, driving negotiations, and making decisions without needing close oversight
  • Experience with e-pharmacies and/or telemedicine platforms preferred
