Director of Pharmacy
The Opportunity
Valet Vital Care is hiring a Director of Pharmacy to oversee the enterprise clinical and governance functions across their acute and specialty infusion network. This role spans Pharmacy, Nursing, Operations, and Revenue Cycle, ensuring medication safety, regulatory compliance, and standardizing practices across all locations.
What You'll Own
Clinical Governance & Regulatory Oversight: Maintain enterprise oversight of pharmacy regulatory compliance across all locations and service lines; lead audits, surveys, and corrective actions.
Pharmacy Clinical Leadership: Provide direct leadership for PICs, pharmacists, biologic coordinators, educators, and clinical staff; oversee training, competency validation, and clinical development.
Strategic & Financial Leadership: Participate in strategic planning for growth, therapy expansion, and operational scalability; collaborate on formulary strategy, budgeting, and new site development.
Performance Improvement & Quality: Lead performance improvement initiatives, set quality expectations, and monitor metrics; ensure consistent sterile compounding, medication handling, and clinical documentation as the network scales.
Dyad Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish and reinforce the operational-clinical dyad between Clinical Operations Managers and PICs; provide escalation support and align operational execution with clinical standards.
Your First 90 Days
Within your first 90 days, you'll deliver a written enterprise pharmacy assessment to the COO, covering clinical practice and compliance at every site, the maturity of the governance model, key friction points, and a 12-month plan to improve enterprise pharmacy with quarterly milestones.
Position Details
Direct Reports: Pharmacists in Charge (PICs); biologic coordinators, pharmacy educators, and clinical staff
Key Partnership: Dyad with Clinical Operations Managers (COMs)
Scope: Enterprise pharmacy practice across all Valley Vital Care locations, both acute and specialty therapy lines, and the central clinical-governance function
Travel: Regular travel between pharmacy locations; centrally based otherwise
