Duties/Responsibilities
- Develops and recommends plan design, does financial analysis, and implements agreed upon health and welfare plans
- Manages broker and vendor relationships to ensure the delivery of excellent service to employees
- Oversees setup and accuracy of HRIS benefits information to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
- Affords assistance with new-hire orientations and on-boarding of new employees
- Performs quality checks and audits of benefits-related data
- Affords assistance to employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility
- Enrolls employees with carriers and processes life status changes
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA
- Effectively interprets federal, and state laws including FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities
- Responds to 403(b) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts
- Plans and manages the annual open enrollment process
- Manages workers compensation cases in collaboration with administrator and in compliance with State Worker Compensation laws
- Provides accurate and necessary reports to Woodruff Arts Center Finance for allocation/billing charges
Required Skills/Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws
- Proficient with HRIS systems, Workday experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Excel skills
Required Education and Experience
- Associate degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education
- Ten+ years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential
