Director of Operations Logistics & Data Analytics

ImpactLife is an independent, community nonprofit providing lifesaving blood products to more than 120 hospitals and emergency medical service providers across a four-state region (Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin). Headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, with a team of 800+ strong, the organization celebrated 50 Years of Saving Lives in 2024. This on-site Director role is based in Davenport, IA (preferred); Earth City, MO; Springfield, IL; or Urbana, IL. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Director, Operations Logistics & Data Analytics leads a team responsible for efficiency within the Operations Division, overseeing logistics and scheduling of human and capital resources across Donor Outreach and Collections, and driving data-driven decision-making, predictive analytics, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee direct and indirect team responsible for scheduling and logistics within Donor Outreach and Collections across the four-state operating area, including both fixed donor center and mobile collection operations.
• Challenge the status quo to determine the most optimal and efficient way to schedule human and capital resources to maximize collections.
• Use strong understanding of cost structure to guide decision-making on resource utilization; make recommendations to ensure human and capital resources match demand.
• Analyze staffing metrics and trends and set targets in conjunction with operational leadership.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and apply standard PI techniques to build collaboration around process changes; ensure metrics are agreed upon and monitored before, during, and after changes to verify desired outcomes.
• Drive data-driven decision-making using a balanced data approach — financial, donor/community satisfaction, safety, and employee engagement.
• Maintain strong technology skills to gather and connect data points, develop user-friendly outputs that drive decisions, and explain data outputs to stakeholders across the organization.
• Develop and launch a focused, consistent approach to predictive analytics to better forecast operations for coming weeks and months.
• Apply strong knowledge of available data points to pare down to the most critical metrics; ensure scorecards for various functions are focused on the right metrics and aligned with organizational targets.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to fully understand data sources, gather information, and ensure optimal system collaboration and functionality.
• Collaborate with external national organizations to maximize use of their database data for organizational decision-making and benchmarking against other blood centers.
• Provide data support for the annual budget process to set weekly registration goals and other key assumptions; work closely with Donor Outreach and Collections leadership to ensure an efficient, timely process.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Working experience in logistics and/or scheduling preferred; supply chain, logistics, and/or operations experience required; blood center experience helpful.
• Equivalent combination of demonstrated work experience and education may be considered.
• Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communications, effectively communicating to individuals and groups from all segments of the public and all employees of the organization.
