Director of Onboarding, Knowledge & Learning
About the role
The Director of Onboarding, Knowledge & Learning at ADP is responsible for transforming how organizations enable talent, accelerate readiness, and build expertise at scale. This role involves leading the strategy, integration, and execution of a unified internal talent readiness ecosystem across ADP Comprehensive Services, including onboarding, coaching, continuous learning, and knowledge management.
Responsibilities
Define and execute a unified vision that integrates associate onboarding, coaching, upskilling, knowledge management, and career progression.
Build scalable, seamless learning journeys across Implementation, Service, and Success organizations for all markets.
Ensure associates are equipped to perform, grow, and adapt in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Lead enterprise onboarding strategy, including new hire experiences, cohort models, and readiness programs.
Oversee coaching strategies for implementation and service teams to drive measurable performance improvement.
Deliver consistency, quality, and impact across the associate lifecycle.
Design and scale ongoing development programs that support proficiency advancement and career mobility.
Lead initiatives such as mentorship programs, leadership development, and progression experiences (e.g., “Level Up” programs).
Champion a culture rooted in accountability, resilience, and connection.
Own the enterprise knowledge management strategy, including governance, content quality, and accessibility.
Develop the structured knowledge foundation required to power AI tools, automation, and intelligent workflows.
Manage The Bridge for Comprehensive Services clients to access knowledge from one another.
Drive associate readiness and adoption for new tools, platforms, and processes.
Partner closely with Enterprise Learning and cross-functional teams to align enablement strategies with business priorities.
Oversee onboarding operations, including cohort planning, provisioning, and enablement infrastructure.
Leverage data, analytics, and insights to continuously improve learning effectiveness and business outcomes.
Align talent readiness strategies directly to client impact and organizational performance.
Lead, coach, and develop a multi-layered organization of leaders and individual contributors.
Establish clear priorities, roles, and ways of working across onboarding, coaching, and knowledge functions.
Build a high-performing, accountable culture with strong alignment and ownership.
Requirements
You have 10+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role. You must have 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leading leaders and scaling organizations. You should demonstrate experience building and leading high-performing teams with strong culture and accountability. You must have experience designing and executing onboarding, learning, knowledge management, or talent enablement strategies at scale. Strong business acumen with a focus on outcomes, scalability, and continuous improvement is essential. You should have the ability to translate business needs into scalable talent readiness programs and operational strategies. You must have the ability to connect the technology side (systems, AI, platforms) with the human side (learning, behavior, adoption). You should have a strong understanding of how knowledge, learning, and enablement contribute to performance and client outcomes. Proven ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed, and ambiguous environments is required. Strong influencing skills with the ability to align stakeholders and drive decisions without direct authority are necessary. Experience leveraging data and insights to improve program effectiveness and drive decision-making is expected. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership presence are crucial. Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- 10+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leading leaders and scaling organizations.
- Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing teams with strong culture and accountability.
- Experience designing and executing onboarding, learning, knowledge management, or talent enablement strategies at scale.

Pay
The base salary for this role ranges from USD $114,500.00 to USD $213,500.00 per year. Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage or minimum exempt salary requirement under federal, state, and local laws.
