About the role
Infuse collaboration, respect, and a passion for helping others by leading the center's nursing team. Deliver high-quality care with a personal touch and encourage our residents to enjoy life to the fullest. Hold overall accountability for providing leadership, direction, and administration of day-to-day operations associated with direct patient care.
Responsibilities
- Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel including nurses, medication aides, certified nursing assistants, and nursing aides in training
- Guide staffing procedures
- Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
- Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures
- Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards
- Control budgets and monitor expenditures within the department, including supplies and payroll
- Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed by completing performance improvement plans
- Manage record-keeping procedures
- Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
- Report directly to the Administrator
Requirements
- Maintains a current/unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
- A passion for working with seniors
- 1+ years of nursing management in the long-term care industry with the experience to include hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision
- Experience tracking, trending, and analyzing infection control and other clinical data
- Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
- Great communication and people skills, including keeping a good rapport with surrounding hospitals and organizations
- Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
- Willingness to monitor changing standards in nursing administration with strong knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
