Director of Nursing RN

Highland Park Health Care in Okmulgee, OK is seeking a Director of Nursing RN to lead nursing services at a facility specializing in long‑term and rehabilitative care. You will hire and train nursing personnel, direct resident care, and oversee the development and implementation of care plans while ensuring the highest quality of care. The role includes collaboration with a strong nursing administration support team and regional clinical resources.

About the role

The Director of Nursing RN will manage nursing staff, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and uphold regulatory compliance. You will work alongside ADONs, a dedicated wound‑care nurse, infection control preventionist, MDS nurses, a staffing coordinator, and a weekend supervisor, as well as regional infection control, dietician, and corporate clinical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Directing, supervising, and evaluating work activities of personnel
• Planning, implementing, and administering programs and services
• Establishing work schedules and assignments for staff, according to workload, space, and equipment availability
• Monitoring the use of diagnostic services, inpatient beds, facilities, and staff to ensure effective use of resources and assess the need for additional staff, equipment, and services

Requirements

• Current valid RN license in the state of practice
• Previous skilled nursing facility leadership experience with a comprehensive understanding of clinical operations and regulatory compliance
• Ability to recruit, mentor, develop, retain, and lead staff members in a work environment that sets high expectations while delivering respect, dignity, and recognition for achievement
• Highly organized with excellent communication skills
• Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Must be able to provide direct nursing care as necessary
