We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and oversee all nursing operations at our facility in the Queens, NY area.
About the Role
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of nursing services within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional resident care, maintain regulatory compliance, support staff development, and drive quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing operations and clinical services
- Ensure compliance with CMS, NYSDOH, and all applicable regulatory requirements
- Maintain continuous survey readiness and support successful survey outcomes
- Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain nursing staff
- Establish clinical standards, education programs, and competency initiatives
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts
- Oversee infection prevention and control programs
- Monitor staffing effectiveness, scheduling practices, and labor management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary leaders to improve resident outcomes and satisfaction
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and resident-centered care
- Serve as a visible and supportive clinical leader throughout the organization
Requirements
- Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- BSN preferred; ADN considered with relevant leadership experience
- Minimum of 2+ years of nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care
- Previous experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or equivalent leadership role
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, NYSDOH requirements, and long-term care operations
- Proven success with regulatory compliance and survey management
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing clinical teams

$190,000 - $215,000 per year
