Director of Nursing (DON)

About the role

We’re hiring a Registered Nurse, Director of Nursing (DON) for a 120-bed Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation facility (Long-Term Care + ~25-bed Subacute Rehab unit) in North Central, PA. This is a great opportunity for an experienced DON—or a strong ADON ready to take the next step—to lead with a collaborative, supportive style and help provide stability through continued organizational growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing operations across LTC and Subacute Rehab
• Serve as the primary point of contact for nursing staff and management
• Supervise and support a leadership team that includes: 2 Unit Managers and 2 RNACs
• Drive quality outcomes, compliance, and survey readiness
• Partner with leadership on infection prevention (shared with Unit Managers)
• Coach, mentor, and develop nurses and nurse leaders
• Build relationships and implement change thoughtfully over time

Requirements

• Active RN license in State of PA
• Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care experience
• Nursing leadership experience (DON, ADON, Unit Manager, etc.)
• Preferred: 2+ years of nurse leadership experience mentoring or developing a nursing leadership team within a Skilled Nursing or Long Term Care setting. ADON ready to move into a first-time DON role

Pay

$115,000–$120,000 per year (based on experience)
