Position Overview
Note: This position is currently filled. However, Freedom Behavioral continues to accept applications to ensure no disruption in patient care if a vacancy occurs.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations within the psychiatric hospital.
- Ensure compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation, and Mississippi Department of Health regulations.
- Direct nursing staffing, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and employee development.
- Promote a culture of patient safety, quality improvement, and excellent clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director, Administrator, and interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Monitor nursing documentation, infection prevention, medication management, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and enforce nursing policies and procedures.
- Lead survey readiness activities and coordinate responses to regulatory agencies.
- Mentor and support nursing leaders while promoting professional growth and accountability.
- Participate in hospital leadership meetings, budget planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Serve as Administrator On-Call (AOC) as scheduled.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Mississippi.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing, CMS regulations, and state licensing requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Current BLS certification required (ACLS preferred).
