The Director of Narrative & Organic Social is being sought by a partner company to manage the brand’s social presence across key platforms. This role combines creative leadership, storytelling, brand strategy, and operational execution to build meaningful connections with audiences.

About the role

This is an opportunity for a visionary content leader to build a function from the ground up and influence the future direction of a growing brand. The role involves defining and owning the brand narrative across various social platforms, translating launches and industry trends into engaging narratives, and ensuring alignment between organic and paid content strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the brand narrative across Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging social channels.
  • Develop creative direction, content strategies, publishing standards, and storytelling frameworks that strengthen brand recognition.
  • Partner with product marketing and product teams to translate launches, features, and industry trends into engaging social-first narratives.
  • Create detailed creative briefs, guide production workflows, and maintain a high quality standard across all content initiatives.
  • Build AI-enabled content production workflows to improve speed, scalability, and creative output.
  • Ensure alignment between organic and paid content strategies to maximize performance and audience impact.
  • Recruit and support additional social talent to expand channel execution and community engagement.
  • Analyze content performance, measure business impact, and use insights to continuously improve strategy.
  • Act as a strategic partner across marketing functions by bringing customer insights, market trends, and storytelling expertise into broader initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strategic and creative marketing leader with experience building brand narratives and driving growth through social-first content.
  • Strong storytelling ability with operational excellence and comfort working in fast-paced environments.
  • Proven experience creating and leading a brand narrative function, beyond simply managing social media accounts.
  • Deep expertise with Instagram and YouTube as growth and brand-building channels.
  • Experience shaping positioning and messaging in partnership with product marketing, product, and creative teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contractors, creative partners, and small high-performing teams.
  • Strong creative direction skills with the ability to establish quality standards and inspire excellent work.
  • Experience connecting organic content performance to measurable business outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered creative tools and modern content production workflows.
  • Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for building communities through storytelling.
