Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking an experienced and licensed Director of Mental Health Counseling to oversee the clinical direction and integrity of the PROMISE Program within our Behavioral Health & Reentry Services division. Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of direct services, assessments, and service planning for all clients
- Lead weekly treatment team and case review meetings, coordinating input from clinicians and psychiatric consultants
- Supervise and support case managers, treatment coordinators, and interns
- Develop treatment schedules and facilitate group sessions as needed
- Implement in-service staff training on evidence-based practices and accreditation standards
- Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation and outcome reporting
- Coordinate mental health services across levels of care—from residential to permanent housing
- Serve as liaison with external providers and develop community partnerships for aftercare
- Maintain medication records and psychiatric consultation documentation
- Carry a small caseload when appropriate and participate in agency-wide initiatives and peer review processes
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a counseling, social work, or related human services field
- Active New Jersey license: LCSW, LSW, LPC, or LCADC
- Minimum of 4 years of direct clinical experience
- Supervisory experience in a behavioral health or reentry setting
- Expertise in cognitive-behavioral interventions, social learning theory, and client assessment
- Demonstrated ability to train, lead, and mentor diverse clinical teams
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards
- Ability to pass criminal background clearance
