Save Mart Center is the 15,000-capacity arena of Fresno State University, ranked 54th in U.S. attendance in 2024. The venue hosts concerts, comedy, family shows, and serves as the home for Fresno State men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and women’s volleyball. Located in California’s Central Valley, Fresno is the state’s fifth-largest city, offering a lower cost of living, a diverse workforce, and proximity to destinations like Yosemite National Park.
About the role
The Director of Marketing will lead revenue-focused, strategic planning and execution across multiple lines of business within the arena division. Responsibilities include digital and traditional marketing, external communications, creative oversight, partner integration, and high-level project management, all aligned with Legends Global Marketing Network standards. This position operates within a collaborative dual reporting structure—directly to the venue General Manager and strategically to the Legends Global Marketing Network.
Responsibilities
- Touring Event Marketing
- Review ticket sales metrics and apply marketing tactics to drive awareness and sales.
- Collaborate with promoters to lead venue marketing support, planning, and timeline management for touring events.
- Initiate and execute digital marketing efforts for large-scale campaigns to drive ticket sales and maximize event awareness.
- Serve as a cross-functional connector with venue stakeholders (general manager, booking, box office), Legends Global Home Office, client administrator, and tenants.
- Lines of Business & Revenue Generation
- Collaborate with the venue sales team and Legends Global Home Office to develop and implement revenue-generating marketing campaigns for premium seating and private events.
- Utilize data and CRM platforms to build targeted campaigns that increase ticket conversions and repeat guest visitation.
- Manage in-venue digital and static assets to maximize ancillary revenues.
- Paid / Traditional Media
- Own strategy and execution of paid media across all channels.
- Review and measure campaigns against revenue-focused KPIs.
- Work directly with media partners for value-add opportunities and execution support.
- Manage the indirect marketing budget to allocate resources effectively for revenue opportunities.
- Social & Digital Marketing
- Oversee venue calendar and content posting cadence.
- Develop strategy and lead team execution, including competitive analysis, data reporting, and platform updates.
- Oversee social listening and metrics evaluation in Sprout Social.
- Maintain and optimize all owned digital assets (website, socials) to ensure a frictionless path to purchase.
- Media Relations & Creative Oversight
- Direct the public relations image of the facility.
- Establish and maintain relationships with media, industry influencers, and key community and strategic partners.
- Act as facility spokesperson and liaison with the general public.
- Assign or create all creative content, designating workload by bandwidth and revenue-focus.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in marketing or a related field.
- 8-10 years of marketing experience.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
- Previous experience in entertainment and/or venue marketing preferred.
Skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and effectively influence and communicate with C-level clients.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management, strong work ethic, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Pay
Competitive salary range of $90,000 - $105,000 plus bonus potential.
