About the Role
The Director of Marketing oversees GMi’s marketing efforts and company-sponsored events, utilizing skills in project management, goal setting, creativity, and analytical support while working under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for communications to current and future clients, including final approval for external content and maintaining quality.
- Conduct office visits to General Contractors, Architects, and Engineers as needed.
- Maintain and update the company website to ensure accuracy and inclusion of recent projects.
- Spearhead and manage all client events, including trips, outings, open houses, industry events, and GC events.
- Lead GMi’s marketing strategy and supervise/oversee all Marketing department employees (if applicable).
- Direct the Executive Leadership team regarding marketing efforts and strategic needs.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor the effectiveness of GMi’s marketing strategy.
- Create, build, and maintain brand recognition.
- Assist in developing the GMi Swag Store, ensuring brand and quality standards are upheld, and manage the promo closets inventory and budget.
- Compile applications for industry awards, ensuring branding, photos, and presentations meet requirements.
- Develop and maintain industry connections and take an active role in industry-specific organizations (e.g., ASA, TEXO).
- Oversee social media and LinkedIn efforts, including meeting post and follower quotas and creating innovative content.
- Assist in career fairs for target universities and engage with company employees and initiatives.
- Make recommendations to improve and refresh the GMi website/media, overseeing video and photography efforts.
- Ensure high standards for event planning and management, including attention to detail and employee involvement.
- Assist in planning company events such as Christmas parties, PM retreats, and anniversary celebrations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within commercial construction, architecture, engineering, or a related B2B professional services industry.
- Demonstrated experience in marketing strategy, brand management, and/or supervision of marketing personnel.
- 3+ years of event planning and/or promotions experience, with AEC industry experience strongly preferred.
- BA or BS in Marketing or Business.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of the AEC industry and marketing fundamentals.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles.
- Excellent time management, organization, writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Professional business presence and acumen.
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative and proactive thinking.
- Commitment to customer service and highly detail-oriented.

Schedule
This is an exempt full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Working Conditions
- Combination of general office setting.
- Moderate physical activity, including handling objects up to 25 pounds or standing/walking for more than four hours per day.
- Travel required to meet with clients and satellite offices.
