About the role

The Dedicated Director of Maintenance (DOM) will direct and oversee all activities, maintenance programs, inspections, analytics, projections, coordination, and project management for the assigned Global 7500 aircraft. This position operates under Part 91 with approximately 400 hours annually and is based at KBFI/KHIO.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an active member of the Clay Lacy Team, promoting its vision, mission, and values.
  • Work productively with aircraft crew members to support their missions and meet owner expectations.
  • Be present for all aircraft arrivals and departures at the designated home base and surrounding airports within reason.
  • Maintain and adjust daily workflow for proper decision-making on maintenance-related resources for the assigned aircraft.
  • Complete light and moderate work on aircraft, including pre/post-flight inspections after each trip.
  • Coordinate moderate and heavy maintenance in efficient intervals to optimize aircraft dispatchability, considering owner schedules and cohesive planning with the crew and aircraft management team.
  • Establish an environment where comments, concerns, and suggestions by personnel are handled and shared with the aircraft management team.
  • Maintain records as required by FARs, manufacturer, and Clay Lacy company policies in accordance with Part 91 or Part 135 standards.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service are provided to Clay Lacy and its customers.
  • Develop and improve vendor/supplier relationships, contracts, and support services.
  • Anticipate client and crew needs to continually improve support and service levels.
  • Represent Clay Lacy in aviation matters through trade associations, the FAA, state or municipal aviation bodies, airport management, community organizations, and contract agencies.
  • Maintain high morale through awareness of Clay Lacy department policies, employee development programs, and periodic department meetings fostering best practices in communication.
  • Act as resident expert on all aspects of safety and liaison with safety organizations on industry safety concerns.
  • Identify and report safety hazards utilizing CLA's SMS program to mitigate risk.
  • Be onsite at least four days a week to provide preventative maintenance outside of scheduled maintenance.
  • Provide the Aircraft Management Team with a 24-month projection, updated monthly, including downtime, estimated costs (man-hours), and coordination.
  • Review vendor invoices and close out work orders in a timely manner.
  • Provide weekly maintenance schedule updates to the Clay Lacy leadership team and/or aircraft management team.
  • Update monthly maintenance projections and communicate them to the aircraft management team.
  • Input and update all aircraft discrepancies in the Corridor tracking program.
  • Update the FL3XX system with aircraft maintenance events for visibility.
  • Utilize HubSpot for all aircraft AOG events and any discrepancy that may create trip interruption.
  • Coordinate quarterly audits of assigned aircraft and records with the Clay Lacy Director of Maintenance or Assistant Director of Maintenance.
  • Report all aborted flights and diversions to the Director of Maintenance or Assistant Director of Maintenance and produce a MIR and/or SDR for each.
  • Upon work completion, send the work package, logbook entry, and 102 Airworthiness Release form (unsigned) to the assigned Clay Lacy Shared Director of Maintenance for review.
  • Ensure work packages are reviewed and all RII items are identified before sending to the maintenance provider for quoting.
  • Review aircraft CB/SB and ADs quarterly and identify any that will increase dispatch reliability.
  • Produce a 12-month maintenance budget for each assigned aircraft and submit it to the Director of Maintenance or Assistant Director of Maintenance by the end of October annually.
  • Verify all third-party maintenance providers are approved Clay Lacy vendors before any work is performed on the assigned aircraft.
  • Scan and send all completed work packages to the Clay Lacy records department via email after auditing.
  • Create all parts ordering, service requests, and P.O. requests through Corridor.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of A&P-related duties with experience maintaining aircraft models similar to the Global 7500.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing subordinates or contractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Able and willing to travel for all aircraft maintenance events not completed at home base.
  • Willingness to work long and sometimes irregular hours.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and management abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining professionalism and service to clients and colleagues.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience (A&P).
  • Must possess and maintain a current and valid U.S.-issued FAA A&P Certificate.
  • Corporate aviation experience required.
  • Must comply with all Federal Aviation regulations, company operations manual, operations specifications, standard operating procedures, and company policies & procedures.
  • Must pass DOT/FAA drug screening, background checks, and submit to random drug/alcohol testing when required.
  • Global 7500 experience highly desired.
  • Must live within a two-hour drivable commuting distance to the base location or be willing to relocate.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching.
  • May require lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines and conduct repairs and troubleshooting on aircraft.

Pay

$215,000 - $230,000 annually.
