Position Overview (Director Of Maintenance)
Heritage Grove Estates is seeking an experienced and dependable Director of Maintenance to oversee all facility operations related to maintenance, safety, and environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all equipment, machinery, and appliances are properly maintained, repaired, or replaced as needed
- Maintain facility and grounds in a safe, clean, and orderly condition at all times
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive preventative maintenance program
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
- Ensure compliance with life safety codes, fire safety regulations, and facility policies
- Conduct and document required fire drills and safety procedures
- Supervise maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, performance management, and discipline
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, equipment, and tools
- Organize and manage department documentation, including reports, logs, and regulatory records
- Collaborate with leadership and other departments to support operational needs
- Aid in managing resident personal property related to maintenance and storage needs
- Ensure all maintenance work meets quality standards and regulatory expectations
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent facility needs as required
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting
- Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, painting, and general facility maintenance
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
- To work independently and lead a team effectively
- Must be available for on-call responsibilities and emergency response
