Director of Legal Artificial Intelligence (KCM)
Summary
The Director of Legal Artificial Intelligence reports to the Chief Information & Risk Officer. This role assists with evaluating, implementing, optimizing, and using artificial intelligence solutions across legal practice groups and administrative functions. The Director will serve as an internal resource on AI platforms like Harvey, Microsoft Copilot, and other approved solutions, supporting AI adoption, workflow refinement, and operational enhancement.

Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expert for Legal GenAI Platforms
Develop and Execute AI Adoption Roadmap
Identify and Prioritize High-Impact Use Cases
Monitor Industry Trends and Emerging Technologies
Audit, Recommend, and Assist with AI Technology Implementation
Ensure Secure, Scalable, and Compliant Platform Operations
Liaise with Vendors for Product Demonstrations and Optimization
Enablement, Training, and Adoption Support
Design and Deliver Training Programs
Develop User Guides and Best Practices
Collaborate with AI Champions and Super Users
Collect User Feedback and Monitor Adoption Metrics
Measure Performance Indicators and Provide Insights
Perform Ongoing Process Improvement Assessments
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. JD or advanced degree in law, computer science, or related field preferred.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a law firm or professional services environment, with exposure to legal technology and AI tools.
Knowledge: Knowledge of current AI platforms used in legal settings, including generative AI tools, and strong understanding of compliance, governance, and ethical considerations related to AI.
Skills: Proven experience in leading technology adoption, process improvement, change management, and cross-functional collaboration, particularly in legal and administrative workflows.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, simplify complex technical concepts, and demonstrate AI tool benefits to non-technical users.
Experience: Strong understanding of legal practice and administrative operations within law firms, including legal data privacy, security, and AI integration into legal practice management systems.
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders, with strong project management skills and a client-focused mindset.
Training: Experience in technology training and developing materials to support AI adoption, including onboarding and ongoing education for legal professionals and staff.
