The Director of Human Resources role is based in the United States and offers an exciting opportunity to lead both the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of a growing HR function. As a trusted advisor to executive leadership, you will shape people strategies that drive organizational success while fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and oversee all Human Resources functions, ensuring alignment between people strategies and business objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, employee engagement, talent management, and succession planning.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee programs while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and corrective measures while promoting fairness and consistency.
  • Manage performance review processes, leadership development initiatives, employee training, onboarding, and retention programs to support workforce growth.
  • Oversee employee benefits administration, vendor relationships, HR audits, compliance reporting, and employment documentation.
  • Direct HR operations, including HRIS administration, employee records management, onboarding, offboarding, process improvements, and workforce reporting.
  • Monitor HR metrics and develop dashboards that support data-driven decision-making and organizational effectiveness.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the Human Resources Generalist while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the HR team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting organizations operating within regulated environments; experience with government contracting is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organization while maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, including employee records management and HR reporting; familiarity with Paychex is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage HR metrics to improve processes and organizational performance.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal contractor compliance requirements, including OFCCP and affirmative action programs, is considered a plus.
