Director of Human Resources and Compliance

The Opportunity In partnership with Lindauer, the Lycée Français de San Francisco seeks an experienced, hands-on Director of Human Resources and Compliance to lead the operational and compliance functions of its HR office. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director will oversee employee relations, workplace investigations, payroll compliance, personnel administration, recruitment and onboarding, supervisor training, and employment-based immigration and work authorization. Serving approximately 900 students representing more than 50 nationalities and 35 languages, the Lycée is an independent, international school committed to preparing multilingual students to contribute meaningfully in an interconnected world. This is an opportunity to build strong HR practices and infrastructure in support of that mission. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field Seven or more years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, compliance, and HR operations SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification Current expertise in California and federal wage and hour law Direct experience preparing and filing employment-based immigration petitions without outside immigration counsel Proven experience conducting workplace investigations and managing progressive discipline and employee documentation Experience overseeing or closely partnering on payroll administration and compliance Compensation The salary range for this position is $150,000–$165,000, depending on qualifications, certifications, and experience.
