Director of HR Operations & Shared Services

About the role

We are an established, growing manufacturing organization seeking an experienced HR leader to strengthen our people programs and lead corporate HR operations. This role offers the opportunity to partner with executive leadership, develop a talented team, and improve systems and services that support employees across multiple locations. Reporting directly to the CHRO, you will have meaningful ownership of HR services, benefits, payroll, HRIS, and talent acquisition, and the chance to build and modernize processes while developing an established team and collaborating with leaders across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate HR operations across benefits, payroll, HRIS, talent acquisition, and employee services.
• Establish HR priorities, service standards, and consistent processes across multiple locations.
• Oversee benefits administration, open enrollment, employee education, and leave administration.
• Manage broker and vendor relationships, including RFPs, negotiations, service performance, and renewal support.
• Optimize HR systems, preferably Paylocity, to improve automation, reporting, data accuracy, and employee self-service.
• Oversee accurate, timely multi-state payroll and support compliance across HR programs.
• Guide salaried recruiting, workforce planning, onboarding, and recruiting vendor partnerships.
• Develop the team, manage budgets, oversee performance and merit cycles, and support HR integration during acquisitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of HR experience, including five years focused on corporate benefits and HRIS.
• Experience leading an HR services function and developing teams.
• Strong benefits administration expertise, including broker management, vendor selection, RFPs, and negotiation.
• Experience implementing or improving HRIS platforms; Paylocity strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting employees across multiple locations and states, ideally within a large or complex manufacturing organization.
• Strong communication, project management, analytical, and Microsoft 365 skills.
• Self-funded health plans, California HR requirements, acquisition integration, and SHRM or HRCI certification.
