Director of Housekeeping

About the role

The Lodge at Primland, part of the Auberge Collection, offers luxurious accommodations and resort amenities in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Guests enjoy a range of outdoor activities and a variety of lodging options, including cottages, Tree House suites, and rooms and suites within the main Lodge.

Responsibilities

- Lead the housekeeping operations with excellence and precision. - Motivate and guide a diverse team to create a clean and welcoming environment for guests. - Maximize hotel operations by aligning with the Director of Rooms. - Foster an environment that ensures consistency and high levels of guest satisfaction and accountability. - Strive to improve guest and team member satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department. - Ensure and maintain cleanliness, service, and product quality standards across guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices, and banquet/meeting/conference rooms.

Requirements

- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. - Prior experience as a housekeeping department leader for a luxury hotel (minimum of three years). - Proficient in utilizing technology and systems to enhance housekeeping procedures (preferable experience with Opera and Alice). - Effective communication and ability to provide clear, concise, and professional guidance. - Experience with resetting priorities, training team members on luxury standards, and coaching through new operational procedures. - Passion for delivering exceptional service and genuine interest in working in a luxury environment. - Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and occasional holidays. - Ability to walk/stand for up to 8 hours per shift and maintain a fast operational tempo. - Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize competing demands.
