Working Conditions

Full-time permanent position (part-time options available)

  • Salary based on a 35-hour workweek for full-time employees (pay may vary for part-time employees)
  • Desired start date: As soon as possible
  • Hybrid work arrangement: remote work and the Mile-End office

Key Responsibilities

Financial and Accounting Operations Management
Oversee and contribute to day-to-day financial operations, including general accounting, accounts payable and receivable management, and payroll
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process and ensure the accuracy of financial reports
Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and budgets, while providing recommendations to management to optimize financial performance and profitability
Manage internal and external audits, as well as tax and regulatory compliance
Supervise and mentor the Administrative and Accounting Coordinator
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with accounting standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent, with experience in financial management
  • CPA Accounting Title
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar management role
  • Relevant experience at a consulting firm
  • A clear and demonstrated interest in Habitat mission
  • Excellent command of French, both spoken and written; functional or advanced English, depending on client needs

Key Skills

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, consolidation, and financial and budgetary analysis
  • Ability to ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and regulatory standards across multiple jurisdictions
  • Ability to extract financial data from relevant decision-making tools
  • Leadership and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in accounting and financial reporting tools
  • Experience in fast-growing or rapidly changing environments
  • Experience in project-based financial management is a plus
