Director of Finance
About the role
Northeast Georgia Rehabilitation Institute is a state-of-the-art, 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital within the Lifepoint Health network. The position oversees all financial operations for two inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, including budgeting, projections, accounts receivable, month-end close, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Manages the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards.
- Hires, terminates, trains, develops, reviews performance, and administers corrective action for staff.
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
- Captures and coordinates internal/external audits.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
- Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.
- Business Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Moderate Computer Skills: Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain, and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.
- Complex Communication: Frequently communicates complex information and interacts with management. Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others.
- Variety of Business Situations: Circumstances are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedent and practice.
