Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Aids in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and payroll.
- Maintains compliance with financial provisions of the management contract.
- Reviews and prepares event settlements.
- Monitors and executes all checks and deposits, daily cash receipts and disbursements.
- Maintains daily cash flow projections; invests excess cash via sweep account.
- Prepares financial statements for the Client and ASMGlobal Corporate, and other financial reports.
- Maintains accounting records, general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses.
- Prepares statements and reports on estimated future costs and revenues.
- Maintains safe, secure, and sanitary working conditions and leaves the work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Abides by all SMG policies in the Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual, the Business Code of Conduct, and the Cash Handling Procedures.
Skills Required
- Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative with minimal supervision.
- Operate standard office equipment and personal computers using MS-DOS, MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, E-Time software, and Peachtree accounting software.
- Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedules and produce accurate results.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a 4-year college/university or equivalent.
- Minimum 5-7 years of related work experience.
- Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures as well as financial systems and controls.
- Experience in the convention center industry (preferred but not required).
