Director of Field Service Sales and Operations
About the role
Brown Equipment Company is growing, and we're looking for a leader who can help us expand the reach—and impact—of our Parts & Service Sales and Mobile Service teams across multiple states. This is not a traditional service operations role. You won't be running our service centers or managing their day-to-day operations. Instead, you'll lead our PSSRs and Mobile Service Technicians, build stronger customer relationships, identify opportunities to grow aftermarket parts and service revenue, and help us expand these teams into new markets.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach and develop our PSSRs and Mobile Service Technicians across multiple states and territories
- Drive profitable parts and service sales growth by helping our PSSRs identify opportunities, strengthen relationships and become trusted resources for our customers
- Spend time in the field with team members and customers—you'll know what's happening because you'll be there
- Help expand our PSSR coverage and Mobile Service capabilities into additional markets
- Establish clear expectations, consistent sales processes and meaningful performance measures across territories
- Develop and strengthen our Mobile Service model, including coverage, response times, scheduling and customer communication
- Make sure our Mobile Service Technicians have the training, equipment and support they need to succeed independently in the field
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers and help resolve escalated field service or parts/service sales concerns
- Use revenue, margin, utilization and other performance data to spot opportunities and make smart recommendations about territory coverage, staffing and resources
- Partner closely with Service Center leadership, Equipment Consultants and executive leadership so that growth opportunities align with our ability to deliver for the customer
- Look for ways to make us better—better processes, better customer experiences, better collaboration and better results
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in service sales, field service, aftermarket or a related area
- Successfully led teams across multiple locations and/or states
- Understand aftermarket parts and service and know how to uncover opportunities without turning every customer conversation into a sales pitch
- Know how to coach people, set expectations and hold teams accountable while still building trust
- Comfortable using data and financial metrics to make decisions and drive profitable growth
- Experience in heavy equipment, construction, industrial or a related industry—strongly preferred
- Comfortable working with ERP and CRM systems
- Don't need to be sitting in an office to feel productive
- A bachelor's degree is preferred, but we value relevant experience, too
Travel
This is a high-travel position—approximately 80%. This role is built around being where the action is—alongside your team, at BEC locations and in front of customers. If you're energized by being in the field, building relationships and seeing firsthand where the opportunities are, you'll feel right at home.
Why BEC?
We're growing—and we're not finished. As our footprint expands, so does the opportunity to grow our aftermarket business, strengthen Mobile Service and expand our PSSR presence. We're not looking for someone who wants to inherit a playbook and keep it running. We're looking for someone who wants to help write the next few chapters. Bring your experience. Bring your ideas. Develop great people. Earn the trust of our customers. And help us build something even stronger.
