Director of Family Engagement, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

Responsibilities

• Steward the complete relationship with every family on campus, cultivating trust that deepens with time
• Identify concerns proactively and address them with discretion, urgency, and considered judgment
• Ensure strong visibility during critical moments: morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, and intentional parent gatherings
• Facilitate ongoing, substantive conversations about Alpha's AI-driven model with highly analytical, technology-oriented families
• Architect and iterate on community experiences that foster belonging, advocacy, and referral activity

Requirements

• Based in or able to commute daily to Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, La Jolla, or Los Angeles
• 5+ years working directly with UHNW individuals or families in private schools, private equity, family offices, or elite client service environments
• Proven ability to navigate complex, high-stakes relationships with discretion and sound judgment
• Active, daily user of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) with the ability to clearly explain AI capabilities, risks, and limitations
• Strong presence and communication style that earns credibility with highly educated, high-expectation families
• Familiarity with private or independent school ecosystems, either professionally or personally
• Availability for early mornings, late afternoons, and select evening or weekend events

Qualifications

• Existing relationships within local private school or UHNW communities
• Experience working with founders, investors, or tech executives
• Track record of building communities or experiences that drive organic referrals
• Experience in early-stage or high-growth environments where ambiguity is high
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, confident conversations

Pay

$100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year.

Schedule

Full-time (40 hours per week)
