About the Role

This position directs the Maintenance Department to ensure effective, efficient, and safe maintenance of property facilities, providing a secure environment for guests and team members while protecting Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe’s assets. The role oversees the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and related areas, including budgeting, scheduling, hiring, inventory control, and policy development. The incumbent ensures compliance with corporate policies and Nevada State Regulations and embodies the company’s brand standards and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy, and Positivity).

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, motivate, evaluate, and direct team members to ensure they receive adequate guidance and resources to perform their jobs according to objectives.
  • Develop and maintain department objectives, policies, procedures, and budgets to ensure effective and efficient management.
  • Collect data and file reports with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations through inspections, testing, and investigations.
  • Inspect property utilities and equipment and take corrective action to minimize potential violations during OSHA safety inspections.
  • Provide expertise, direction, and resources in the event of a hazardous waste spill to ensure compliance with clean-up procedures.
  • Maintain the Pool area and oversee the establishment of an effective preventive maintenance program.
  • Monitor non-controllable expenses through energy conservation projects and implement an extensive recycling program for cost-effective disposal.
  • Participate in long-term planning for facilities expansion and modifications to meet department requirements.
  • Monitor master key procedures and par inventory levels to ensure security and restricted access.
  • Ensure a safe and secure atmosphere for guests and team members.

Requirements

  • Operate in an environment with varying levels of cold, heat, noise, crowds, smoke, and vibration.
  • Occasionally work outside and endure all weather conditions (proper clothing provided).
  • Inspect and maintain areas requiring climbing, balancing, crawling, and reaching, including attics and basements.
  • Work around extreme heat, such as in the boiler room.
  • Use small hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers) and equipment associated with the position, including power tools and testing equipment.
  • Move efficiently around work areas.
  • Working knowledge of government statutes, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Hazardous Communications, ADA, OSHA, MSDS, County Building Codes, Gaming Control regulations, and fire permitting.
  • Proficiency in budget development, analysis, and management for a comparable-sized operation.
  • Effective communication and motivational skills.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance, janitorial methods, electrical distribution, HVAC, and plumbing.
  • Understanding of energy management systems, including operation, programming, and correlation to engineering expenditures (helpful).
  • Minimum age requirement: 21.
  • Must obtain a gaming license from the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
