About the Role

We’re reopening a fully reimagined, upscale beachfront hotel in the heart of St. Pete Beach and are seeking a visionary Food & Beverage Director to lead and elevate our culinary and beverage operations. This role directs and organizes the activities of the Food and Beverage Department to maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, service, and merchandising while maximizing hotel profitability.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication, and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate.
• Plan and direct the administration and planning of the Food and Beverage Department to meet daily operational needs.
• Clearly describe, assign, and delegate responsibility and authority for the operation of food and beverage sub-departments (e.g., room service, restaurants, banquets, kitchens, steward).
• Develop, implement, and monitor schedules for all food and beverage sub-departments to achieve profitability.
• Participate with Food and Beverage managers in creating menus designed to attract a predetermined customer market.
• Implement effective control of food, beverage, and labor costs across all sub-departments.
• Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Assist managers in establishing and achieving profit objectives and desired standards of quality, service, cleanliness, merchandising, and promotion.
• Regularly review and evaluate guest satisfaction in individual restaurants and banquet services, recommending new policies when necessary.
• Develop operating tools for modern management principles (e.g., budgeting, forecasting, purchase specifications, recipes, portion control, menu abstracts).
• Continuously evaluate and encourage improvement of associates in the Food and Beverage Department.
• Plan and administer a training and development program within the department.
• Communicate verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
