Director of Events
The Saddle & Cycle Club, a family-oriented, member-owned club founded in 1895 on the shores of Lake Michigan, is one of Chicago’s oldest private clubs. Known for its active event program, strong traditions, and high engagement across golf, racquets, aquatics, and year-round family events, the Club seeks a Director of Events to lead its events team.
About the role
The Director of Events leads the planning and execution of private events, weddings, banquets, member functions, and Club-sponsored programming. This role oversees the full event cycle—from initial inquiry through execution and final billing—while providing hands-on leadership to the events team.
A key focus in the first year will be documenting and standardizing event workflows, developing an early-career team to execute independently, and supporting the Club’s transition to new event management software.
Responsibilities
- Manage BEO accuracy, room setup, and turnover standards.
- Oversee event budgets, vendor coordination, and member responsiveness.
- Develop and standardize event workflows and operational systems.
- Build and mentor an early-career events team to execute independently.
