Director of Engineering Systems
Position Summary
The Director of Engineering Systems is responsible for improving how engineering executes across the Air Cooling platform. This role leads the Applications Engineering organization while driving process maturity across engineering, from Sales handoff through production. The position partners with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Operations to improve execution, coach engineering leaders, and build scalable systems that support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Applications Engineering team through the Applications Engineering Manager while improving technical consistency, responsiveness, and team development.
Improve handoffs between Sales, Applications Engineering, Product Management, and Production Engineering to reduce delays and improve execution.
Develop practical engineering processes, templates, and best practices that scale with company growth.
Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations to improve project execution and customer outcomes.
Coach engineering managers and technical leaders to strengthen accountability, communication, and organizational capability.
Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements that increase engineering quality, efficiency, and predictability.
Support key engineering and operational initiatives that improve execution across the Air Cooling platform.
Required Qualifications & Requirements
10+ years of engineering leadership experience in engineered-to-order or industrial manufacturing.
Experience leading Applications Engineering, Engineering Operations, or Production Engineering.
Strong understanding of engineering workflows from customer requirements through manufacturing.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferable HVAC, thermal management, or custom equipment experience.
Leverage Lean or Continuous Improvement experience.
Experience implementing scalable engineering processes.
Private equity or high-growth manufacturing experience.
