About the role
Manages a systems engineering group responsible for the design, development and implementation of complete engineering programs in accordance with project budgets and release schedules.
Determines long-range plans and creates general engineering or product specific strategies to reach goals and reviews engineering specifications.
Anticipates future needs and initiates the development and implementation of new approaches to engineering design and development.
Provides approval guidelines and leadership to reporting engineering managers in the area of long-term program, strategy, and process design.
Works with business group management teams to ensure that such programs, strategies, and processes are aligned with the organization’s direction.
Defines performance metrics and reports on the engineering functions’ progress against specific goals.
Interfaces with internal and external customers on engineering issues involving the unit’s products.
Demonstrates broad and comprehensive understanding of different systems, theories and practices.
Applies broad industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance across business unit, department or sub-functions.
Learns through subordinate managers of managers; executes segment/functional business plans and contributes to the development of segment/functional strategy.
Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced analytical thought and judgment.

Requirements
- Experience leading globally distributed teams across the U.S., Asia, and India.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Systems or Electrical Engineering, with 15+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Recognized technical authority in the assigned domain, with broad knowledge across adjacent functional areas.
- Expertise in overall control architecture, including remote I/O distribution (EtherCAT, DeviceNet), analog and digital control, and motion control.
- Hands-on expertise in control systems, system integration, PCB design, and software development.
Qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in Systems or Electrical Engineering, with 15+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Recognized technical authority in the assigned domain, with broad knowledge across adjacent functional areas.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
