Director of Engineering
About the role
The Director of Engineering, Landlord Solutions, will lead a group of engineering teams responsible for building and scaling the products, tools, and workflows that serve landlords and multifamily operators across TheGuarantors ecosystem. This is a leadership role for someone who can operate at the intersection of people management, technical strategy, execution discipline, and product partnership.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Engineering Managers across multiple teams.
- Drive predictable delivery of high-impact business outcomes with strong quality and ownership.
- Partner with Product to shape roadmaps, evaluate tradeoffs, and align engineering investments with business priorities.
- Provide technical leadership on architecture, platform strategy, and cross-team decisions.
- Improve execution through better planning, risk management, dependency coordination, and accountability.
- Ensure teams focus on the highest-value work while balancing speed, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Support organizational growth through hiring, performance management, and leadership development.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including experience leading Engineering Managers or multiple teams.
- Strong technical judgment and credibility, with the ability to guide architecture and technical strategy.
- Proven track record in building high-performing teams that deliver business-critical systems reliably.
- Experience partnering closely with Product to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Strong execution skills, including risk management, prioritization, and driving accountability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coach managers and develop engineering leaders.
- Ability to thrive in a high-growth environment with ambiguity and competing priorities.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of multifamily real estate and tenant underwriting processes.
- Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and infrastructure as code.

Pay
Base salary ranges between $250,000 - $275,000 annually. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location, and current market data.
