Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering staff while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the delivery of civil engineering projects across multiple service lines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and quality control procedures.
  • Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Cook up project coordination with clients, project stakeholders, field teams, consultants, and internal departments.
  • Develop and implement engineering procedures, technical standards, and QA/QC processes.
  • Oversee engineering software platforms, technology strategy, and related operational systems.
  • Support proposal development, feasibility studies, client presentations, and business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Survey, Environmental, and Construction Management teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Stay current with engineering technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Participate in strategic planning, operational decision-making, and departmental leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering (Utah preferred) or equivalent professional engineering credentials.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional civil engineering experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership, supervisory, or project management experience.
  • Extensive experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) projects and standards.
  • A strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, design standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • A valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with DOT-funded transportation or public infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and GIS software.
  • Experience with electronic project management platforms.
  • Proposal development and client relationship management.
  • A knowledge of environmental permitting and regulations.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical investigations and analysis.
  • A strategic planning and organizational leadership background.
