Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering staff while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the delivery of civil engineering projects across multiple service lines.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and quality control procedures.
- Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Cook up project coordination with clients, project stakeholders, field teams, consultants, and internal departments.
- Develop and implement engineering procedures, technical standards, and QA/QC processes.
- Oversee engineering software platforms, technology strategy, and related operational systems.
- Support proposal development, feasibility studies, client presentations, and business development initiatives.
- Collaborate with Survey, Environmental, and Construction Management teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Stay current with engineering technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in strategic planning, operational decision-making, and departmental leadership.
Required Qualifications
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering (Utah preferred) or equivalent professional engineering credentials.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional civil engineering experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership, supervisory, or project management experience.
- Extensive experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) projects and standards.
- A strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, design standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- A valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with DOT-funded transportation or public infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and GIS software.
- Experience with electronic project management platforms.
- Proposal development and client relationship management.
- A knowledge of environmental permitting and regulations.
- Familiarity with geotechnical investigations and analysis.
- A strategic planning and organizational leadership background.
