About the Role

We are currently seeking a Director of Engineering for our Institutions Engineering Team. You will assume engineering leadership over our investor solutions and research product suite and take ownership of technology delivery across our Institutional segment and sophisticated investor product offerings. You’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers, platform architects, and engineering managers. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in scalable cloud-native systems alongside proven leadership in scaling engineering teams and executing complex product roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering organization dedicated to the Institutional segment.
  • Establish clear engineering goals, operational metrics, and delivery standards aligned with company objectives and create a high-performing engineering culture.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design leadership to drive Addepar strategy across all of our engineering organizations.
  • Drive the technical vision, coordination, and delivery across all products and solutions within our Institutional segment.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Design, and GTM to define, prioritize, and execute product roadmaps.
  • Implement robust Agile software development practices to ensure predictable, high-quality, and timely releases.
  • Guide architectural decisions to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient system design suitable for institutional security and compliance standards.
  • Champion engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and robust monitoring/observability platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of engineering leadership experience with a track record of managing managers, architects, and software engineers.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise/institutional software platforms with stringent security, regulatory, and uptime requirements.
  • Deep familiarity with modern cloud architecture, microservices, API design, data pipelines, and enterprise security frameworks.
  • 5+ years experience with financial risk frameworks and asset management in either a SaaS environment or financial institutions.

Pay

The current range for this role is $214,000 - $335,000 (base salary) + bonus + equity + benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for roles in Colorado, California, and New York. In addition to base salary, this role includes bonus, equity, and benefits.
