About the role

Guided by our core values of Passion, Respect, and Excellence, the Director of Employee Relations serves as a trusted advisor to Human Resources and operational leaders, providing guidance on complex employee relations matters while promoting fair, consistent, and effective people-management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and operational leaders on complex and sensitive employee relations matters.
  • Lead and provide guidance on workplace investigations, employee concerns, and workplace issues.
  • Partner with HR and operational leadership on disciplinary actions, performance management, and employment decisions.
  • Provide guidance on employment practices, company policies, and applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • Coach and support managers on performance management, documentation, corrective action, difficult conversations, and effective employee communication.
  • Develop and deliver training, tools, and resources to strengthen managers’ employee relations and people-management skills.
  • Identify employee relations trends and develop proactive education, training, and strategies to address recurring workplace concerns.
  • Promote consistent, fair, and effective employee relations practices across the organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information and workplace matters.
  • Build strong relationships with HR leaders, operational leaders, managers, and employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Significant progressive Human Resources experience with strong expertise in employee relations and workplace investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, HR policies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, educate, advise, and influence managers and senior leaders.
  • Multi-state organization experience preferred.
  • Healthcare or senior living employee relations experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional judgment, discretion, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with HR, operational, and senior leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Pay

$150,000-$170,000 annually (depending on experience).
