Director of Electrical Engineering
About the role
The Director of Electrical Engineering position at Salas O’Brien is looking for a leader who can guide a team through the design and implementation of electrical systems for various projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical design and a strong understanding of relevant codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, provide guidance and training to a team of engineers
- Develop electrical system designs of a given project based on scope of work and/or client RFPs
- Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of electrical systems for a variety of market types
- Conduct existing building surveys and documentation of existing electrical systems
- Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings
- Write and edit project specifications
- Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies
- Perform code compliance research
- Coordinate work with other disciplines
- Perform construction administration services
- Serve as the primary contact for clients
- Aid in the procurement of new work including the development of client relations and participation in project interviews
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in electrical design
- Preferred: PE License
- Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines
- Hands-on experience with the latest versions of AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office, and engineering calculation and performance simulation software
- Preferred: Team management experience

Compensation & Benefits
The expected base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $145,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location. This role is eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive U.S. based benefits package, including:
