About the Role
HCA is actively recruiting for a Director of Educational Services. This role is responsible for ensuring the utmost quality of education and service for all students enrolled in our classrooms and supervising the work of departmental staff. The Director provides instructional leadership, manages day-to-day activities, and assures the efficient operation of the department.
Responsibilities
- Assigns, supervises, and monitors the work of employees within the department for accuracy and completeness.
- Sets educational standards and goals, and helps establish policies, procedures, and programs to achieve them.
- Plans for the upcoming year and oversees summer school programs.
- Monitors students' progress and provides students and teachers with assistance in resolving any problems.
- Prepares budget and maintains attendance, activity, planning, accounting, and personnel reports and records for officials and agencies.
- Reviews and interprets government codes, and develops procedures to meet codes and to ensure facility safety and security.
- Ensures compliance with governmental regulations.
- Responds to inquiries concerning agency functions, either verbally or in writing.
- Monitors and determines needs of the department and oversees the requisition and allocation of supplies.
- Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates primary and supplemental staff, and recommends personnel actions for programs and services.
- Maintains current knowledge of agency policies and procedures, federal and state policies and practices.
- Maintains and updates policies and procedures for the department as necessary.
- Interacts with parents, prospective and current students, and the community.
- Actively participates in the community through membership on committees and boards.
- Required to be on-call as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in education.
- Minimum of five years of experience in an educational setting with 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Certification as a school administrator, School District Leader (SDL), or School Building Leader (SBL) is required.
