About the role
The Director of Educational Services provides leadership, oversight, and support for assigned TK-8 schools and educational programs to ensure high levels of student achievement, instructional excellence, and operational effectiveness. The position supports principals in implementing District priorities, improving instructional practices, monitoring student outcomes, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Board policies.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction, support, and accountability to assigned principals
- Monitor instructional effectiveness and student achievement outcomes across assigned schools
- Guide principals in evaluating instructional practices and classroom implementation of state standards and curriculum frameworks
- Promote effective instructional leadership practices that improve teaching and learning
- Serve as an advocate for assigned schools
- Respond to parent concerns and participate in meetings with families and community stakeholders
- Support implementation of District policies, administrative regulations, and strategic initiatives
- Assist schools in meeting academic performance goals and accountability expectations
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate assigned principals
- Organize and facilitate principal meetings and collaborative leadership structures
- Empower school sites to make informed decisions that directly support student success
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and requirements
- Develop and communicate procedures, expectations, and practices related to instructional and operational matters
- Support development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of site educational plans
- Ensure alignment between District goals, school improvement efforts, and resource allocation
- Utilize data to identify trends, evaluate effectiveness, and support continuous improvement
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, families, and community members regarding District priorities and initiatives
- Aid in the development and implementation of long-range and short-range goals aligned with District priorities
- Monitor progress toward District objectives and provide regular updates to District leadership
- Recommend strategies and actions that support effective use of resources and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred
- Experience: Successful public school teaching experience required. Minimum of three years of successful site principal experience or central office leadership experience required. Experience in instructional leadership, school improvement, curriculum implementation, and educational program management preferred

- Knowledge: Academic program design and delivery systems, including Professional Learning Communities (PLCs); Curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school improvement processes; Educational laws, regulations, policies, and compliance requirements; Principles and practices of educational leadership and organizational improvement; Data analysis and continuous improvement systems; Effective management and organizational practices
- Skills & Competencies: Demonstrated commitment to ethical leadership and professional integrity; Strong instructional leadership and coaching skills; Ability to analyze complex educational and operational issues and develop effective solutions; Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; Ability to design and facilitate high-quality professional learning; Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders; Commitment to equity, student success, and continuous improvement

SALARY: $166,728 - $201,949 Annually, 223 days (max salary includes longevity & education stipends)
